Penny auctions are here to stay!

You may only recently have heard of penny auctions, and fear that they might just be a fad, but we here at PHPPA are trying to make people think again:

Everyone needs a bargain these days so, following a suggestion from Sunray at Pheebay.com, a number of the smaller alternative auction sites are getting together for a joint promotion which Pheebay and its members will publicise to the best of our ability.

Already, out of the discussions, some joint site promotion has begun. WOGO and Biritz are carrying reciprocal links on their front pages – a first in UK auction sites as technically they would be seen as rivals.

It makes a great deal of sense for the smaller sites to carry links to each other. If a visitor can’t find what they want on one site they will, hopefully, check out the other sites. There is no association between Biritz and WOGO other than this agreement.

But although that is great, that isn’t what this promotional drive is all about.

Read Rainbowseeker’s blog about the Penny Auctions promotion.

One penny auctions – the chance to pick up a bargain or get something for next to nothing – are happening on the smaller auction sites and details of current auctions (all are designed to finish on a Sunday) will be published here amongst other places.

Anyone wishing to join in this promotion who sells on one of the smaller alternative auction sites (in other words anywhere but eBay) and has products to list at 1 penny start prices (please pick an item worth IRO GBP7/$10) should go and read this thread at Pheebay.com and enter the details of their auction.
